Veil Facts

Here are some interesting Veil Facts from various sources around the web:

- The veil was yellow in ancient Greece and red in ancient Rome and usually shrouded the bride from head to foot.

- The bridal veil protected her purity on her wedding day

- It kept the bride from being hexed by jealous spinster-witches in the village. (You know who you are!)

- A woman had to cover her face so her husband wouldn't be killed for her beauty.

- An old veil is luckier than a new one -- and that luckiest of all is a borrowed veil, especially from someone who has been happily married.

Did you trip? Did it get caught in the elevator? Did you wear it to the grocery store? I'd love to hear your interesting veil stories, if you have one.

This is my photoblog showing select photographs from weddings I've had the good fortune to shoot around the Hudson Valley, Westchester County and NYC. I love to take pictures of beautiful brides and handsome grooms on their big day -- and I especially love the fantastic spots they choose for their ceremony. I'll try to highlight these places as much as I can. If you ever have questions about the places you see in my photos, please don't hesitate to drop me a line.

Thank you for looking at the Your Day Photo web log!
